The Chronicle of COVID

Since March 2020, The Six of One Show/Six’s Record Party has produced many parodies, some of which were COVID-related. Here is the entire sordid chronicle, covering all phases – from the initial lockdown, mask madness, to vaccine insanity.

  1. “School’s Out (with Corona)”: A parody of Alice Cooper’s “School’s Out”
  2. “Social Distancing”: A parody of Queen/Bowie’s “Under Pressure”
  3. “God Help the USA”: A parody of Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA”; mostly a commentary on the U.S. going totalitarian
  4. “Seventeen Bodies”: A parody of Tennessee Ernie Ford’s “Sixteen Tons”, about several governors sending COVID-19 patients to nursing homes
  5. “COVID-19”: Parody of Steely Dan’s “Hey Nineteen”
  6. “Covid Cucks”: Parody of the late Dave Cloud’s “Spotty Bird”
  7. “A COVID-19 Christmas”: Parody of “A Holly Jolly Christmas” by Burl Ives
  8. “The Coof”: Parody of Kix’s “The Itch”; my favorite parody of all
  9. “Two Masks – Better Than One”: Parody of U2’s “Two Hearts Beat as One”
  10. “Because the Coof”: Parody of Patti Smith’s “Because the Night”, mainly focusing on people’s civil liberties being violated
  11. “COVID People”: Parody of Pulp’s “Common People”, about how easily some people adjust to the “new normal”
  12. “Mask Free”: Parody of Jimi Hendrix’s “Stone Free”
  13. “Vaccinations”: Parody of The Human League’s “Fascination”; by then, it was already apparent that the vaccines didn’t work

By now, The Six of One show went the way of all flesh…but the chronicle would continue with my new show, Six’s Record Party:

  1. “Everybody Must Get Vaxxed”: Inspired by Kurt (from Austin), a parody of “Rainy Day Women #12 and 35”; covers much the same ground as “Vaccinations”
